War is the neocons answer to the Economic and Political Crisis

Wed Aug 13, 2008 at 09:46:49 PM PDT

crossposted to Docudmarma

The Economic Crisis defined by the neocons, isn't the fact that folks are losing their homes/jobs/retirements, etc.  No, Economic Crisis for the neocons is the fact that folks are finally waking up to the fact that our country has been robbed blind and these sleepy folks may soon be seeking justice and/or blood.

The Political Crisis defined by the neocons isn't the fact that our politicians and government have been bought by corporations and are corrupt to the core.  No, Political crisis for the neocons is the fact that folks are finally waking up to the fact that our politicians and government agencies have been bought by corporations and are corrupt to the core.

Its a pickle for the neocons.....how can they continue with business as usual when so many folks are on to them.

Kuwait is finalizing “Emergency War Plan” as US Navy carriers head to the region.

Fri Aug 08, 2008 at 11:10:27 AM PDT

Is a US Blockade of Iran approaching?   A blockade is considered an act of war.  Perhaps war is the goal.

Two additional United States naval aircraft carriers are heading to the Gulf and the Red Sea, according to the Kuwaiti newspaper Kuwait Times.
Kuwait began finalizing its "emergency war plan" on being told the vessels were bound for the region.
The US Navy would neither confirm nor deny that carriers were en route.

The rich have already abandoned ship, what’s a decent American to do?

Sat Jul 26, 2008 at 01:36:46 PM PDT

My mom refuses to "cash-out."  She is a wonderful, faithful, generous person and patriotic American.  She will not join a "run-on-the-bank."  She refuses to "panic."..........and I think that is what the wealthiest people, the people on the top count on.
The Greedy cash-out...the decent folks lose-out.  As decent Americans do we have to be left with little to nothing?

Why is it OK for those on top to save themselves from a sinking ship...but not OK for the rest of us to try to save what we have honestly worked for?

When someone advocates for people to get their money now before there are no FDIC funds left or the dollars has no value...why is that bad or wrong?

FISA letter to the editor, Lets preach to the masses

Fri Jun 20, 2008 at 10:40:36 PM PDT

I have submitted this following letter to the editor and encourage you to do something similar using names from your district and state.
We have got to get this out there, we have to shame them and call it what it is.  The corporate media will not cover this like they should.

Let's get on with preaching to the masses!

Democrats STFU you sound like chicken hawks on FISA and teleco immunity

Thu Jun 19, 2008 at 06:24:27 PM PDT

Shame on Congress, especially shame on Democrats.......You sound like a bunch of Republican chicken hawks!
Republican Chicken hawk: "I support the war, I support the war....but I’m not going to fight on the frontlines, my contribution to Victory (or defeat) will be an occasional vote and lip service"

Democratic Chicken hawk:  I am against war funding without a timetable for withdrawal, I am against retroactive immunity for telecoms......but I am not going to fight on the front lines, with every legislative tools I have to stop them.......I am just going to keep saying I am against it, vote against it when I am sure my vote is in vain, and do nothing more to Stop what I profess to be so completely against having happen.

Is God Punishing Iowa?

Fri Jun 13, 2008 at 09:50:51 AM PDT

Is the unprecedented flooding, damage and destruction that is taking place in Iowa the result of Iowans offending God?
Or is it the results of the weather?

I don’t think I have ever heard anyone say this:  The flooding in Iowa is in fact, the judgment of God against Iowans. Iowa has a level of sin that was offensive to God.

In the middle of this disaster in Iowa it would seem insane to want to question why it is happening, rather take care of those who are directly affected by this disaster right now.

UPDATE: The diary is not snark, the title is meant to put taking point by the religious right into perspective.
I answer the question in the first comment, ITS THE WEATHER!

Stop Bush's Biotech Bailout! Take Action

Thu May 22, 2008 at 04:07:16 PM PDT

Bush will shower his friends with earmarks and screw the rest of us (especially the poor, starving and dying) for as long as we let him...Take Action now.
Tell Congress to say "NO"

Please take action today and urge your Congresspersons to reject the Bush Administration's $150 million earmark for Big Biotech.

According to the Chicago Tribune, the White House is attempting to force famine stricken countries, mostly in sub-Saharan Africa, to adopt Genetically Engineered crops tied to a $770 million aid package.

Sitting the Bench

Sat May 17, 2008 at 02:31:24 PM PDT

Listen up! sounds the coach as he reads off the batting order and positions.  Anticipation  grows as the players names and positions are read off down the order...an excited smile...a straight face...a sigh of disappointment.
Sitting the Bench again.

A wise coach of mine once said, "all kids, including my own, will take their turn on the bench."

Oil & Food: HIGHER Prices & Profits, STOP selling our country to the highest campaign contributors

Mon May 05, 2008 at 01:15:54 PM PDT

Warning this is a candidate diary......rather a diary to the Presidential Candidates and Congressional Candidates and any candidate who is running for office.

The Farm Bill supports Big Agriculture
The Energy Bill supports Big Oil
Big Agriculture and Big Oil support political campaigns.....

It doesn’t take a 6th grader to connect these dots. More like a third grader.
But let me spell it out anyway.......Big Business ‘pays’ politicians through campaign donations.  Politicians pay back big Business through corporate welfare (in the form of tax breaks, incentives, pork projects etc.) which really means our tax dollars, yours and mine,  pay back big business for their campaign contributions.

Earth Day Action(don't wait until 2009): Feeds the Bees with free Sunflowers

Thu Apr 17, 2008 at 09:12:53 PM PDT

The bees are dying.  We need the bees.  If we rely on elected officials to save the bees, it may be too little too late.
I hope the next President will take quick, appropriate action to save the bees, but we cannot wait until Jan 2009 to get started.

Also, while the ‘experts debate what is causing the terrifying death and disappearance of the bees.....we can take some concrete action in our neighborhood to help save them.

The federal Agriculture Research Service, an arm of the U.S. Department of Agriculture, mobilized a team of scientists late last year to study and hopefully solve the problem.(of dying bees) Jeff Pettis, team leader based in Beltsville, Md., says the USDA is doing everything it can to find answers.

http://www.wcfcourier.com/...

This Earth Day please considering taking action, wherever you live, to help save native bees.

I Am BITTER, I bet my neighbors are too, take action on bitterness level locally

Sat Apr 12, 2008 at 09:19:34 PM PDT

Obama is speaking the Truth about Harsh realities in this Country:  I am Bitter.
We need to response to this locally.
Please consider writing a letter to the editor of your local paper.
Or shot some video in your community tomorrow asking people if they are bitter?

Obama should not be apologizing! The Bush Administration should be apologizing for so many wrongs!

Breaking: Did your children eat the Recalled Beef?

Fri Mar 28, 2008 at 01:08:15 PM PDT

USDA releases School Districts that got recalled beef

The U.S. Department of Agriculture released a list Thursday of all school districts nationwide that received beef included in last month's recall of 143 million pounds from a California slaughterhouse.

The 226-page document listed "school food authorities" - the rough equivalent of school districts - that received the meat. It was released after pressure from federal lawmakers, including Rep. Rosa L. DeLauro, D-Conn.

I frantically searched the PDF of School Districts that had received the tainted/recalled beef.  Did it go to my children’s school?
I silently cried in relief when I saw that my children’s school district was not on the list.  But then I saw that my friends and family members’ school districts locally were on the list!
I feel ashamed for my relief that at least the beef did not make it to my sons’ lunchroom.
The downer-cow beef did make it to the school lunch rooms of my nieces and nephews, and friend’s.

Needs to be on Rec List: 5th Anniversary of the Iraq War

Sat Mar 15, 2008 at 10:41:47 PM PDT

I believe it is important to have a diary on the reccomend list reminding people about the 5th Anniversary of the Iraq War and what they can do.

March 19th is the 5th Anniversary of the Iraq War:
too many lives destroyed
too many lies spoken
too many $$$ wasted

......what are you doing on March 19th?

Good News, FISA Vote Delayed! Action needed again and again until we win.

Wed Mar 05, 2008 at 04:36:34 PM PDT

You may be tiring of the FISA battle, which is what they are hoping for......
But the fact that we still have a Fight means they have not won yet!
Before you give up on this FISA battle,
Please Ask yourself, if this struggle against retro-active immunity (basically the death of our Constitution and Democracy)  was truly a lost cause, wouldn’t this battle be over already?  Wouldn’t BushCo already have what it wants: retro-active immunity for telecoms?

Well BushCo doesn’t have it yet and the fact that we have another day or week to fight must mean it is not a lost cause......

We (citizens calling, faxing, blogging, writing) must be putting  enough pressure on the Democrats to make them think twice before giving President Bush exactly what he is demanding, retro-active immunity for Telecoms.

The FISA vote has been delayed again because of disagreements within the Democratic caucus:

Mad Cow Disease, do you have unprotected SEX

Fri Feb 29, 2008 at 09:52:54 PM PDT

with a stranger, knowing that you risk possibly being infected with a incurable, life-threatening disease?

Well......Mad Cow Disease is incurable and delivers a  painful certain death to you if you become  infected...

mad cow disease, a mysterious disease that is not destroyed by cooking and has been fatal. You could ingest "prions" (abnormal proteins) by eating even a well-done rib roast. These prions infiltrate your brain, perforate it with holes, and cause death in a few years’ time.

http://www.motherearthnews.com/...

Eating one hamburger from a fast food joint is like having unprotected sex with as many as 1000 strangers.
The ground beef in one hamburger can have pieces from as many as 1000 cows.

FISA Alert to Congress: BushCo has ‘Dirt’ on you and will use it...no matter what

Sat Feb 23, 2008 at 09:57:41 PM PDT

Hello Congress:
Using illegal wiretapping since before 9/11 BushCo has been listening to you Congress and to your friends, families, campaign contributors and more....
And yes, I am sure they have found some dirt.

And yes, Democratic and Republican Congress people, I am sure that you are afraid about the illegal files that have been built around your entire political, professional and personal lives.

Congress, how can  the American people get you to overcome this fear and in this critical FISA issue do what is right and just and uphold the Constitution?

REID take FISA off the Table NOW!

Tue Feb 12, 2008 at 11:33:01 AM PDT

It's time to take FISA reform off the table until America elects a new President next November. Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid could end this once and for all -- today.
Call Senator Reid right now and demand: No new FISA reforms while President Bush is still in office.

WOW what a concept......actually do your job Senator Reid, Use very legislative tools possible to STOP the gutting of our constitution.

Senator Reid, if you are truly against retro-active immunity for telecommunication companies....you have the power to STOP this.
