I guess I'm not as tech savy as once thought but, how does a Toolbar downloaded to your computer help raise money for the RNC? If anything, it's just giving them access to your computer, personal files and internet habits. Perhaps this is their way to jump into micro-marketing?
A little good news about my shero, Michelle Obama, to break up all these New Yorker blogs.
Alpha Kappa Alpha Sorority Incorporated was founded on the campus of Howard University on January 15, 1908 by nine distingusihed students.
Via wiki
Since being founded over a century ago, Alpha Kappa Alpha has helped to improve social and economic conditions through community service programs. Members have improved education through independent initiatives, contributed to community-building by creating programs and associations – such as the Mississippi Health Clinic – and influenced federal legislation by Congressional lobbying through the National Non-Partisan Lobby on Civil and Democratic Rights. The sorority works with communities through service initiatives and progressive programs relating to education, family, health, and business.
McCain, who once sang in jest about bombing Iran, on Tuesday reacted to a report of rising U.S. cigarette exports to the Islamic Republic by saying it may be "a way of killing 'em."
Iranian Foreign Ministry spokesman Mohammad Ali Hosseini said: "McCain's crude remark on the indiscriminate killing of the Iranian nation not only testifies to his disturbed state of mind, but also to his warmongering approach to foreign policy."
In a statement quoted by the website of Iran's state Press TV satellite station, Hosseini added:
"We condemn such jokes and believe them to be inappropriate for a U.S. presidential candidate. It is most evident that jokes about genocide will not be tolerated by Iranians or Americans."
I think someone is playing a sick joke because I am not Latina nor am I for McCain. I am signed up on his website to receive emails, but I did not indicate I would volunteer or become further involved in his campaign.
Dear Ms. (Laura),
Thank you for your support.
I have attached an invitation for a Latinas for McCain event taking place soon.
The invitation contains more information on the group as well.
I am so through with the old heads from the Civil Rights movement hating on this new generation of black folk. I don't think Jesse is upset that Barack is "talkin down to Black folk", he's mad that Obama hasn't kissed his ring, or taken any of his advice.
Isn't it bad form to openly suggest that our judicial branch be as partisan as the other two? Color me naive but isn't it best to keep politics out of the courtroom? Since when has any judicial campaign been anything but non-partisian?
move.org, the sierra club and labor are going to spend ONE BILLION DOLLARS (I'm holding my pinky to my mouth accordingly) in the next five months? Seriously? Obama instructed all outside groups to not campaign for him, it seems the only one to defy him so far is Matthew 25. Moveon.org shut down their 527.
No mention that the RNC is killing the DNC in money. And John McCain is out-doing Obama in fundraising too. No mention of what makes John McCain a candidate worthy of your (probably limited) funds. Just a panicked "ZOMG THE LIBERALS ARE TAKING OVER" email.
It's a new month, and they didn't take away my cost of living raise so, I'll be donating to Obama, maybe I'll do it on the 4th in honor of Malia's 10th bday.
There is no question that Barack Obama is now the Democratic nominee. I feel that the least state and county parties can do is have a button on their front page that can redirect Democrats to barackobama.com
This email is to confirm your attendance at John McCain’s Energy Policy speech at the Richard Tam Alumni Center (TAC) on the University of Nevada Las Vegas Campus.
We encourage you to arrive between 8:30AM and 9:00AM tomorrow. Please note that seating is limited.
His campaign sent that email a little more than 24 hours before his event, but little do they know, activists in Las Vegas have been planning for weeks.
I signed up as a volunteer on John McCain's website hoping that I'd be invited to a town hall, be seen as a token Black woman and given the opportunity to ask a question. I haven't figured out what that question is yet, so suggestions are welcomed.
I got a fundraising email from McSame and it's clear he and the RNC are in panic mode. I don't think they know how to compete with the Obama campaign. They're seeing that the racism, xenophobia and swiftboating isn't working-and won't work ever again. I was at a congressional panel last night and one candidate (there were nine) said BUH-RACK WHO-SANE, and even his Republican homeys in the room booed him.
With our huge registered voter advantage, we cleary have them against the ropes, and we have to keep them there. It's a long way to November so we have to keep donating our time and money to Obama and the DNC so we don't lose our lead. We can't choke like the Lakers in Game 3 :)
His essay is in no way bashing Hillary, it's not even about her. Instead, Tim (who is a white man) is attempting to hold certain white women accountable. Those white women being so-called feminsts and activists who are going to vote for John McCain because Hillary did not win.
I'm sure 95% of Kossacks are also on moveon.org's list, but I just wanted to make sure everyone had a chance to get their free bumper sticker compliments of moveon.org
You can also donate $5 or $10 if you want multiple stickers.
I heard rumors that here in Vegas McCain already has three campaign offices, all in the heavily Hispanic neighborhoods in and around Nellis/Lamb/Lake Mead/Charleston. I have yet to see these offices and I contacted the campaign via email and phone call and no one has responded to me.
I was disappointed in Obama's Latino outreach in Nevada, or I should say the LACK of outreach. It seems as though McCain is trying to capitalize on Obama's "Latino problem" by trying to get to those voters first. He certainly can't depend on Republicans to vote for him here; if I remember correctly, he finished a distant third behind Romney and Paul.
When I met him at a book signing in Denver (October, 2006) I told him I would do whatever he needed me to if he chose to run for president. Ironic but, he replied "Well, thank you sweetie". And to that I said, "Please, just don't do anything crazy". He looked up from signing my book, laughed and said, "I will try my hardest. I'm a grown man but sometimes it's hard for me to not act a fool."
The future President of the United States said "act a fool" y'all.
The Obama campaign has been doing things under the radar to prepare for the general, as to not piss off Clinton's supporter any more than they all ready are, but this newest fundraising email doesn't mention Hillary by name at all, and very cleary makes the assumption that Barack is the nominee, and the grassroots needs to focus our energy on McCain
According to Barack, Reggie Love was slipping a little today!
I was a volunteer today at his closed event in Las Vegas. After his talk on the mortgage crisis, Obama was making his rounds, shaking hands, taking pictures, etc. He came to a table of elderly Latino women who began to maul him: hugs, kiss, putting books and magazines in his hands to sign. Obama looked around and said "Where's Reggie?" Reggie came running over "My bad" and Obama said "You're not doing your job". I think Obama saw the butt-hurt look on his face, so he said, "Come on man" gave him a playful smile, and nudged him with his elbow.
I don't recall which of the 12 million debates it was, but I do remember John Edwards saying if someone won't vote for Barack because he's Black, or they won't vote for Hillary because she's a woman, he doesn't want their vote.
We will be talking exclusively with Becky Isais, who worked on the Mike Gravel for President campaign. Ms. Isais has previously provided LFV with email proof of her claim that she has not been paid; on this episode, we'll hear the audio proof. Was this just a misunderstanding, or was fraud involved? Listen in and decide for yourself.
