Tim Russert - The Village Physician

The Village Physician relies on time tested "cures." He clings to the need to balance the four humours. That is why his examinations painfully include the study and manipulation of bile and phlegm. The most reliable treatment is invariably bloodletting. We are in awe of his knowledge and skill.

The image above depicts the good doctor inspecting the lying tongue of his favorite patient, the Lieberman baby.

I had this image on file and felt compelled to add my disgust to the reaction to Russert's debate performance.

  He exemplifies nearly everything that is wrong with mainstream television journalism. Gotcha! Gotcha! Got me a a sound bite! Yaaaay me! I'm hard-hitting. Well, Senator, did you back in 1952 say that you opposed flush toilets? Show the clip Don. How can you reconcile that with your vote in favor of sewage treatment plants today?

    Did anyone see Chris Mathews one half hour before the debate ? He was wringing his hands with glee and drool on his lips while asking all the pundits ," what's it gonna be like tonight ? Is Hillary going to give Obama a knockout blow ? Are things going to get HOT !? Or what ? are they gonna go at it ? "
    He was happy like a pig in shit that he might be seeing some bloodletting . That's what the tabloid bastards feed of of these days . I might as well have watched fox .
